I'm gonna stand for right and I always shun the wrong
If I'm in the crowd, If I'm alone
On the streets or in my home

Everyday, everywhere
On a busy thoroughfare
Folks may watch me; some may spot me
Say I'm foolish
But I don't care
I can't sing one thing and then live another
Be saint by day and a devil undercover
I've got to live the life I sing about in my song
If at day, if at night
I must always walk in the light
Some mistake me; underrate me
Because I want to do aright
I can't go to church and shout all day Sunday
Go out and get drunk and raise sand all day Monday

BIO
Jesus Gonzalez Flores (born in Donna, TX in 1979) is a Chicago-based interdisciplinary artist and editor. He studied at Eastern Michigan University and The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Recent projects and exhibitions include being a co-founder and co-director for Adds Donna, BROWN, AND BEIGE – A FINITE AND INFINITE, PERIGRINEPROGRAM, Chicago IL, Joan Mitchell Foundation MFA Grant Recipients, CUE Art Foundation, New York NY, Black Moon, Half/Dozen Gallery, Portland OR, SUPRIMIR MORALEJA, Monument2 Gallery, Chicago IL and is currently editing and writing Por Un Amor, a document-book to be published in the near future. Jesus is a mentor and teacher for Walsh Elementary in Pilsen. He is a Gemini, married and plans to adopt.
